The Small Business Checkup
Four Steps to Improving Your Business Performance

WHAT IS A DIAGNOSTIC TOOL?

Business diagnostic tools are questionnaires or checklists that provide a framework to assist business managers and advisors review the operations of a business and identify possible areas for improvement. Over the years, a variety of diagnostic tools have been developed. These tools are most commonly targeted at larger-sized businesses. They are also typically associated with the sale of specific services, such as consulting services, or products such as an accounting program.

Our objective has been to go well beyond what's currently available and develop a ground-breaking diagnostic tool that is:

  • Available over the Internet at no charge to the user;
  • Targeted specifically at small and medium-sized businesses in British Columbia; and
  • Action oriented.  It's not enough to just identify opportunities for improvement - we want you to develop strategies and an action plan for acting on those opportunities.  The Small Business Check-up will help you to develop an action plan and provides referrals to resources that are available to assist you in developing and implementing your plans.
